Impractical Jokers: Net Worth, Early Career, and Best Quotes

Fan of Just For Laughs: Gags ? I know you know that show, don't fool me now. If you do, then I guess you love Impractical Jokers as well, yes? Premiering on Netflix, the American hidden camera reality game show provides some of the best improvisations you'll see on TV.

Impractical Jokers' Early Career

Impractical Jokers was produced by NorthSouth Productions and premiered on truTV in 2011. The four members of the show are none other than Joseph "Joe" Gatto, James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn, and Salvatore "Sal" Vulcano.

Gatto, Murray, Quinn, and Vulcano are four friends from Staten Islands, New York, who all attended Monsignor Farrell High School. Since then, these guys were always together and you'd think they were born as quadruplets. In 1999, they formed the live improv and sketch comedy troupe called The Tenderloins.

Before the group went into television, they worked hard in finding their niche. Fortunately, participating in NBC's It's Your Show competition, they went on to win the show and take home the $100,000 grand prize. After that, they went on to bless TV screens across the world.

In 2008, the group filmed a pilot episode for one of Spike TV's scripted sitcoms but it didn't really work out in the end. truTV, on the other hand, announced Mission: Uncomfortable which eventually turned out to be the birth of Impractical Jokers on the 12th of April, 2011.

Since then, the audience of the truTV prank show was asking for more of Gatto, Murray, Quinn, and Vulcano. Murray explained how these types of show concepts work to the advantage of jokers like The Tenderloins:

We needed to find the right format… thing is, we've been doing this for years, but when it's on camera, the embarrassment is amplified.

Top Impractical Jokers Quotes
  1. "For us, I think the hard thing was finding the right format for what we do. We are organically best friends, you know. We've been doing this kind of 'embarrassment' humor all our lives and so when we created the format for the Jokers show… it just shows off our friendship in a really nice way." - James Murray
  2. "Q[uinn] had introduced that game to us. It's just so stupid to do it but one of the most terrifying feelings is when you are about to clip it onto someone. When you get caught - when you are a middle-aged man in a supermarket and they turn and look at you with judgment in their eyes! That's one of the worst feelings!" - Joseph Gatto
  3. "I have a problem with that day…. because that day we filmed two punishments back to back. We filmed me jumping out of an airplane and then went over to the cornfield to punish Sal. Two in the same day. And he goes on and on and on about how terrified he was. I fell 14,000 feet free-fall, not knowing if the parachute would open." - James Murray
  4. "Yeah, I mean there's always the chance of it. And that kind of keeps us on our toes when we are filming the regular show. If we lose then there's a real air of tension because most of the punishments are kept a secret from each other. And that day… the day of the punishments." - Sal Vulcano
